Join Us for a Fun Beach-Read
Enneagram Book Club this Summer!

What is an Enneagram book club?
It's a book club in which we explore story through the lens of the Enneagram and explore the Enneagram through the lens of story. In each session we'll briefly discuss an aspect of the Enneagram and then dive into ways in which it illuminates our understanding of the characters' internal worlds, their relationships, and their personal growth.

The Books:

We'll be reading the Three Sisters Island trilogy by bestselling fiction author Suzanne Woods Fisher. Each book follows one of the 20-something Grayson sisters who are each vastly different and have drifted apart. When their widowed father buys an island off the coast of Maine and starts renovating an old camp, the sisters are drawn together again. As the sisters' lives are upended, they find themselves letting go of old defense mechanisms and opening up to life and love.

The Enneagram:

The Enneagram is a personality framework that sets out 9 personality Types, each an equally valid way of seeing the world. The Enneagram is unique among personality typologies in that it focuses not on outward behavior but on motivations- WHY we think, feel, and act the way we do. It recognizes that people are dynamic and illustrates a clear path for personal growth that is unique to each Type.

Hosted By:

Hi! I'm your Enneagram Book Club host, Jessica Baptiste, and I’m a Certified Enneagram Coach through Your Enneagram Coach and the founder of Enneagram Pearl Coaching & Gear.

I love books and read about 75 of them last year! I also love how the Enneagram provides language for us to understand what is going on inside ourselves and others, even fictional characters.

The Enneagram can be a fun and helpful way to look at character arcs in novels while considering different ways of seeing the world and the internal motivations behind actions, all of which can help us continue to grow in self-awareness.

FAQ:

Q: Do I need to know about the Enneagram to join?
A: Not at all, we'd love to have you! So that you have an idea of the personality Types we'll be talking about, I'd recommend reading The Road Back to You: An Enneagram Journey to Self-Discovery by Ian Morgan Cron and Suzanne Stabile (which is also on the app Scribd, see note above) before we get started.
